2000 / München / Children's Day Care Centre

For a new cooperative children’s daycare centre in Munich, visual transparency and spatial generosity inform the building’s planning and underpin the pedagogical requirements for the centre.
All childcare spaces for crèche and kindergarden are designed at ground level with direct garden access. Between large break-out spaces, smaller freeplay zones and communication corners are nestled. At upper level, a multi-purpose room and workshops open out to a roof terrace. Likewise, the garden design concept abounds with play areas of sand and rainwater, bridges and theatre corners for role-play for children of differing ages.
