2001 / Weiden / Townhouse for living and working

For the conversion of a Gründerzeit apartment building into two maisonettes and an office, existing floor levels were significantly rearranged to optimise south-facing living and working areas and reduce circulation spaces.
Strategically cut openings and voids throughout the building provide a spatial generosity and light quality throughout. This spatiality is further explored with a reduced material and colour palette and construction detailing.
The upgrade of the existing building with energy efficient design and Low-Tech measures provides a cost effective project with reduced energy consumption.
