2011 / Coburg / Neighbourhood development Ketschenvorstadt

Within Coburg’s historic city centre, the new housing and retail development at Albertplatz extends the urban fabric both in city block form with its’ articulated roof profile and banded windows, and textural materiality combining an insitu concrete socle with a profiled render façade.
Located on a corner site, public circulation through the development links the market square and neighbouring street with access to inner retail and upper level residential apartments. A shared courtyard and playground raised above the retail level provides the private inner core for the residences.
